BMW Motorrad has launched it’s much-awaited R 18 Cruiser Bike in India on Saturday. In India, this bike has been launched at a starting price of 18.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle has been offered in two versions with R 18 (standard) as the base model and the other R 18 (first edition) starting at Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW R 18 is going to give a tough competition to the recently launched Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and Triumph Rocket 3 GT Cruiser bikes. The company has also started bookings for BMW R 18 and can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. If you wish to purchase this bike, it can be ordered as a fully built unit (CBU) through the BMW Motorrad dealer network.
BMW R 18 Engine And Power
The BMW R18 Cruiser Bike has a 1,802 cc air/oil-cooled engine, which is the highlight of the bike. According to BMW, this is the largest ‘Boxer’ engine ever produced by them. It is similar to the engine of the old 1930s BMW Cruisers using a drive shaft. This engine generates maximum power of 91 bhp at 4,750 rpm and 157 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm.

This bike has 3 standard riding modes including rain, roll, and rock.
